East Jefferson General Hospital's Total Joint Replacement Program is available to patients having hip or knee replacement surgery. The preoperative teaching class is designed to help prepare patients for the aspects of hospitalization from preoperative testing to discharge. During class, a nurse and a physical/occupational therapist will describe what you can expect during your surgery and hospital stay; review the components of physical and occupational therapy; and discuss options following discharge for your home recovery. We encourage all patients preparing for joint replacement surgery to bring a family member or friend.
